Outline

Rel 1: TITLE & APPROACH

---> ? "The Future of  Psychology & the Bible"

Sw. in two works totaling 18 volumes did a word by word content analysis of the imagery in 3 blah of the Bible. His attempt is to prove that the Bible is first & oldest. Hndn. of Psychology

---> threefold imager of self: A, C, SM (Abr In Jacob)

---> three levels of mind: 1,2,3 (Egypt, Ampria, Israel)

---> ennead of matrix

---> applications

    - Kelliuai
    - Koller
    - h. Tax (Bloom)
    - discourse analysis==driving health

add---> OUTLINE FOR ---> Rel. 1

---> Sw.'s Importance: Why the Science of Q Needs to Claim Him

1.] New meaning for Q therapy, includes God & life after death & regeneration (mental health)

    ---> authenticity imme for Qs...

2.] Explain emergent ideas}---> PTO Sw. gives a Q biological mechanism for it ("influx" "inherited affections" "sprits we're in association with")

3.] His real relationship to Q vs. his reputation

    ---> the James, and others (influences)
    ---> the Bible as Q Handbook
    ---> his empiricism and behaviorism

Genetic Culture:{ instinctive ideas / inherited

4.] Implications

    a) the New Dualist Therapies

        -God-man relation is mental health (reformation and regeneration)
        -inherited notions and affections
        -self-discipline and self-exam
        -lifestyle honesty (faith + charity)
        -conjugal love (eternal couples)
        -abnormal behavior (spirits)

    b) the New Q Biology

        -inherited behavior syndrome
                {--affective (character weakness)
                {--cognitive (emergent ideas)
                {--spiritual (enjoyments)

        -spiritual behaviorism
                --correspondence
                --levels of internal
                --

Towards a More Religious Q: The Future Behaviouristic Dualism

Swedenborg's:

---> A, C, S-M: antedates behaviorism

---> hearing model: see Fig. 1

---> Relation to W. James

---> Contempt Swedenborgism Education and Curriculum

---> Sw. therapy sermons (General Church)

2-- Historical image: on the rise in US suppressed
    --in encyclopedia
    --traalksdjflakdjf
    --influence on American Thinking
    --@#%@#%@#%
    --philosophy & therapy
    --Emersion, Kant, Blake

---> contemporary writers & journals e.g. Larsen, New Philosophy, Odhores, Physical Con. (Cody's history book in WC?)

re: interprets of Swedenborg by a non religious dualist

e.g. that Sw. experienced (like Jung, Van Dusen, Blake) are real immerse state we experience after death

 Dualism Yields Better Therapy Approaches:

1. Does not separate the inmost of the Q from the inmost of the religious of spiritual: --> more authentic, more valid less hypothetical, less schizophrenic more dignified and honorable

2. May be more effective with lifestyle habits & learning objective self-awareness

---> fight lower drives with higher drive

---> interprets lower thoughts with higher thoughts

---> fits within traditional culture

---> resolves the issue/ problem of the religion once and for all

Titles??? A Particle Rel. 1

---> SWEDENBORG'S SCIENTIFIC DUALISM AND THE FUTURE OF PSYCHOLOGY

---> TOWARDS A MORE RELIGIOUS SCIENCE OF PSYCHOLOGY

---> PSYCHOLOGY OF RELIGION VS RELIGIOUS Q

---> SWEDENBORG'S RELIGIOUS BEHAVIORISM: WHY PSYCHOLOGY NEEDS IT

--> WHY PSYCHOLOGY NEEDS SWEDENBORG

---> PROPOSAL FOR THE SPIRITUALIZATION OF PSYCHOLOGY

---> CAN THE SCIENCE OF PSYCHOLOGY CONTINUE TO IGNORE GOD?

---> THE ADVANTAGES OF DUALISM

---> CAN PSYCHOLOGY SURVIVE WITHOUT DUALISM?

Genetic Culture ("influx")

add: ---> Sw. Underlying Relation to Q

    Sw. is not a replacement of older theory. It is not a parody. Not a scientific evaluation.

        Because: SW helped form the science of Q

        Therefore: SW's function in Q will be to integrate oppositely conflicting systems unify by forging rational bonds between occasionally independent. discipline ("science of conspd"), & expand the science of Q to human behavior after death and take into relation the reality of vertical community (universally of think and feel)

Rel 1 on Dualism for Q

1. Show that tradition of excluding the mention of God in scientific writing is recent. QQ from Plato, Arist, Kepler, Copernicus, Galieleo, Kant, Darwin, Einstein--- all dualists.

2. Consciousness; Death; Healing
    What to do about the topics?
        a) ignore them in your theories
        b) reduce them to absurdity
        c) dualism

3. New Topics:
    Spiritual biology (topics, info)
    Morality
    cultural genetic
    Religious Behaviorism
    Regeneration
    Life after death

Consciousness

a) congenial evidence{ ---> I see what you mean, very clearly
---> I don't see, I'm confused
---> After I thought about it for a while, I understood
---> It's too complicated. I can't see it.
---> I understand very well. I can see through your scheme.
---> etc.
b mechanism: 3 minds (DP 147)
                                        (AC 1953)

Perceptions see feelings
Thoughts do not see feelings, but represent them.

Feelings perceive thoughts.

Therapy relates primary feelings to perceptions (awareness)

Linguistics relates secondary feelings to thoughts (topiiclazotion) (objects only)

Awareness is the perception of primary feelings.

Awareness: Intentions/Preferences/Values

Thoughts {represent copy} sensations (S<-->R)

Response ("porion") is governed by feelings.

Sw's model

1. "passion" receptivity, potentation, motivation, reinforcement, happiness

2. intelligence, problem-solving, learning, communication

3. therapy, healing, morality, altruism, religion, death
